WHY NUDISTS BASK UNABASHEDLY IN THE VERY MERRY MONTH OF MAY

KISSIMMEE, Fla (April 2024) – Not only does the end of April herald in May flowers — to the delight of both naturists and naturalists — it also presages two favorite naturist holidays.
- May 4th is when World Naked Gardening Day is celebrated. 2024 marks the 19th annual event when folks across the globe are encouraged to tend their gardens, flower boxes and yards clothed only as nature intended (though it’s okay to put on a smile, a hat and some gardening gloves too). Got a little plot of paradise fenced off at home? Then discard your inhibitions and stretch your personal barriers by pulling weeds and cultivating your herb, vegetable, and flower garden with nothing between you and the sunshine but a bit of sunscreen. Cleanup is a breeze with a spritz of the hose.
- Saturday May 11th (the day before Mother’s Day) is “Born to be Nude Day” honoring how our moms brought us into the world. You can commemorate the event by shedding your clothes and stress at an American Association for Nude Recreation (AANR) affiliated club/resort/campground, designated nude beach, or in the privacy of one’s home or backyard. Lounge nude, read nude, garden nude, house clean nude, swim nude, then sleep nude. You were, we all were, “born to be nude.” Just remember, nudists/naturists are as comfortable in their own skin as are babies, toddlers and others who reject feeling any shame for the form God and their mothers gave them. They celebrate their natural state.
Also, throughout the month (and beyond) AANR clubs host myriad nude sports events such as bare fun runs, volleyball tournaments, naked bike rides, hikes, fun bowls and more.
