Dedication to Service

I’d like to thank all the members who took the time to read my September column and write me. I’m thankful we live in a country where we can discuss controversial issues. It’s important as voters to gather information on issues that impact our right to be nude. Stay informed!

I am also thankful for the efforts and sacrifice of all of those who have defended that freedom. My family is well-represented in military service. It’s that dedication to service that drives me to keep reviewing the bills we see coming out at all levels of government that can affect us.

Your GAT Team continues to review bills, statutes, regulations, and policies that restrict or attempt to restrict nude use of your land and public lands. As we enter this next year we will have new leaders at all levels. Make sure you have researched those running for all offices. I often say all politics is local, and it’s up to us to make sure we elect responsible, rational people to all these open positions. Politicians rarely stay at one spot; they move up at their own pace if voters reelect them.

Engage with those running locally. Make sure they know your values and will respect your rights. Some day they may move on to a position that directly impacts your freedoms. Support those leaders who mirror your values. Volunteer for campaigns and vote in every election. Be vocal about the causes of concern to you. Our “Nudist and I Vote” pins are on my hat and backpack when I’m out in nature. Wear your pin in public too.

Nudists need to work together to show the public we are responsible citizens. We use the same services others use and we have the same right to safely use public spaces. Your participation in public dialog lets others know rational voices don’t always hold the same beliefs they do, the differences between us is what makes us stronger together. Use this November election cycle to assert your right to live in a safe nudist environment.
