Hong Kong Nudist Group Hosts Photo Contest

The Body Arts Association,a Hong Kong nudist group, is holding what is said to be the country's first nude photographic competition, reports the Daily Times. The purpose of the contest is to test whether attitudes toward the nude human body have changed since the city returned to Chinese rule a decade ago.

Public nudity is illegal in Hong Kong, in spite of efforts by the Body Arts Association to secure a designated beach for nudists. In 1995, the Hong Kong Obscene Articles Tribune classified a newspaper photo of Michelangelo's David as obscene, although the ruling was famously overturned.Over 300 entries have been received. The competition will be held on June 16 when the winning photos and entries will be on display. Read more at Nude Photo Contest.
