Vaseline Debuts Nude Advertisement

Following the Dove Pro-Age campaign, Vaseline is also using nudity in its latest ad campaign for its new Intensive Rescue product line. The television ad clip, Vaseline Sea, is called a celebration of the human skin featuring choreographed naked bodies. The commercial begins with closeups of human skin then pans out to a group of nude men and women standing among trees in a forest. A voiceover gives information about human skin while the nude men and women huddle together on boats, float in the sea, raise their arms toward the sun and run through a storm. The tagline: Vaseline--keeping skin amazing.

Absentee Campaign Says "Vote Naked"

The spring election in Madison, Wisconsin, fell during spring break this year, resulting in thousands more absentee ballots than usual, reports the Wisconsin State Journal. The area is home to UW-Madison, Edgewood College, and Madison Area Technical College. On the UW-Madison campus, political science organizers stressed the convenience of absentee voting with the Vote Naked campaign. They publicized it with posters of nude voters, one male and one female with strategically placed ballots and offered a free shuttle bus to register to vote.

Feminist Art Exhibit Features Nudes

WACK--Art and the Feminist Revolution is an epic-scale exhibition featured at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles. The show contains 450 works by 119 artists from 21 countries. The collage on the cover of the catalogue is one in a series by artist Martha Rosier and has already caused something of a stir due to its sea of nude female bodies. Yet the aim of the collage is to highlight the objectification of the female body by showing it in an extravagant way. The exhibit is being held through July 16, then moves to Washington, D.C, New York and Vancouver, British Columbia. Read more at Art and Feminism.

Help Clean Up The Beach

Registration is open for volunteers to help clean up the beach at the Assateague Island Spring Cleanup at the Assateague National Seashore in Maryland on April 28. This is the perfect time for nudists to demonstrate how much they care about this historic beach area. AANR members will meet at the ranger station at 9 a.m., which is located across the parking lot from the bathhouse. AANR ball caps and T-shirts will be provided as this is not a clothing-optional event. To register or for information concerning this event, e-mail Ray Simpson or call 301/399-9338.
