Stars Pose Nude For Breast Cancer Awareness

The month of October is designated as National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. For over two decades, the event has built awareness and provided information on breast health while giving hope for future treatments. For the past month, a variety of sponsorship from celebrities and various retail outlets as well as smaller venues have joined the cause. But not just in this country. In China, three of the nation's top female stars posed nude for the cover of the October issue of Trend Health to promote breast cancer awareness, reports .

As representatives of the Pink Ribbon Breast Prevention Movement 2006, the stars promote prevention, detection, and a cure for breast cancer. Trend Health has been inviting female celebrities to pose nude for the campaign since 2005. The Pink Ribbon Breast Prevention Movement falls on the third Friday of every October.

Though well intentioned, the cover drew controversy, with comments that questioned the need to pose nude to draw attention to the issue. The stars and magazine insisted that the stars were photographed in concern for public welfare and regarded the cover as a depiction of the beauty of the female form. A pregnant Jiang Qinquin posed for the campaign as a gift for her baby. Read more at Movement.

Actor Says "Nothing Wrong" With Nudity

Rising actress Anne Hathaway, star of The Princess Diaries and the summer sleeper hit The Devil Wears Prada, defends her choice to be filmed nude in her new film and finds "nothing wrong with nudity." Brought up Catholic, Hathaway considered becoming a nun. She tells PR Inside that she grew up studying great works of art which typically feature nudes. The actress says she will continue to be nude in films if the role warrants it, and finds it more disturbing to see a woman posing in hot pants on the cover of Maxim. Read more at Hathaway.

The deadline to enter is November 20, 2006. The drawing will be held in the AANR office on November 27, 2006. Call 800/TRY-NUDE or Enter today!
