Ilsley Visits White Tail Park

This week, Ilsley makes a stop at White Tail Park in Ivor, Virginia. Many types of recreational activities are available. The pools are a centerpiece for sunbathing the natural way. For more active tastes, paddle tennis, volleyball, and basketball are popular. Petanque, billiards, darts, and Ping-Pong can be enjoyed in the indoor recreation center.

After a day in the sun, visitors can relax and unwind in the hot tub and sauna. Special events such as dances and karaoke in the social hall, potluck dinners, and game nights are held regularly. Tent, trailer, RV sites, and rental units are available.

White Tail Park is the perfect place to spend a vacation. Besides all the amenities to be enjoyed at the club, it is within an hour's drive of many popular attractions such as Busch Gardens, Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown, Virginia Beach, Water Country USA, and the Williamsburg Pottery Factory.

The Ilsley is a traveling trophy commissioned to commemorate AANR's 75th Anniversary as the credible voice of reason for nude recreation in North America. Ilsley is traveling to nearly 40 AANR clubs and resorts across the U.S. and Canada. Throughout his tour, special themed events and celebrations are planned at host clubs along the way.

The award is named for the late Rev. Ilsley Boone, the founder and first Executive Director of AANR's predecessor, the American Sunbathing Association. Boone is perhaps best remembered as the flamboyant clergyman who served as plaintiff in the 1958 case of Sunshine and Health v. Summerfield. That case went all the way to the United States Supreme Court and established, once and for all, First Amendment protection for nudist publications.

Ilsley ends his tour in August 2006 at the Association's 75th Anniversary Convention at Deanza Springs Resort outside San Diego, California.

You can track Ilsley's weekly progress on his year-long tour right here on the AANR website.

Photographer of Nudes Returns to Spain

American photographer Spencer Tunick, who specializes in large-scale artistic nude images, is set to photograph 300 Spaniards in the Basque resort of San Sebastian. The work will depict a "fantasy meeting for people disoriented by the outside world and who need an interior space to come together," he explained to reporters.

In one of his most eccentric ventures, Tunick photographed a group of men and women covered in white and dark chocolate. In 1994 he was arrested in Manhattan after a nude model posed for him in broad daylight. This is the second time Tunick has brought his artistic vision to Spain. Three years ago he photographed 7,000 people in Barcelona. Read more ...
